Overview
About Me
Hi! My name is Cyndi, I am curious traveler, a creative spirit, and lifelong learner who believes the best way to understand the world is through people, stories, and shared meals. I’m respectful, curious about culture, food, and history. I love learning about traditional life, regional dishes, and hidden gems that guidebooks don’t always highlight.
I have a work background in psychology, international relations, international business, and I’m deeply fascinated by culture, history, architecture, and the traditions that shape communities. I especially love exploring biblical locations, ancient sites, museums, art museums and meaningful places that carry spiritual or historical depth. I would love to meet local women and men, both young and old and learn about their lives and enjoy cooking together or shopping or exploring their city together.
At heart, I am a creative, an artist and find beauty in everyday moments. I am kind, easygoing, a social butterfly, genuinely grateful for the opportunity to connect with locals, both men and women. I value thoughtful conversation, cultural exchange, and learning how others see the world.
I love being outdoors in nature especially the desert and enjoy tea, talks, laughter, sunrises and sunsets and discovering hidden gems. I am looking for lodging tips and places off the path to take in. I am married so I am truly only looking for friendship but I have been known to meet new friends and adopt them as my family.
I see myself as a citizen of this world and not just my country (originally Spanish and Portuguese) and I can adapt and fit into any culture. When I visit a country I love to buy a traditional dress and wear it during my visits. As they say, when in Rome, do as the Romans do.
Looking forward to sharing stories and experiences along the way.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I’m here to learn from true cultural immersion, locals, experience authentic culture, share stories and perspectives, build friends, to experience places through people, not just through photos. I value cultural exchange, meaningful conversation, and the kind of connection you can’t book at a hotel. I travel with respect, gratitude, and an open mind and heart.
