About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To meet, greet and repeat

ABOUT ME

I enjoy traveling and meeting people. This is the main reason I joined CS.

What I do: I have a degree in microbiology and have delved into fields like biomedical and clinical research and currently work in public health surveillance. Within the next year I hope to be in grad school, but until then I would like to travel and meet others who are doing the same.

What I enjoy: I dedicate my free time to volunteering, doing Crossfit and traveling from time to time. I enjoy hiking, biking, sleeping, reading, drinking, and hanging out with my friends. I like meeting new people and am really interested in any stories anyone is willing to offer.

I consider myself to be a friendly, open minded person and hope I can meet people that inspire and teach me something new.

PHILOSOPHY

Traveling is like therapy: sometimes you need it, sometimes you don't but you always feel different after you do it.

"Don't aim for success if you want it; just do what you love and believe in, and it will come naturally."-David Frost

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am excited to meet other fellow CSers! At this time I can only meet other fellow CSers for coffee/drink/activity. As I mentioned, I'm new to the Dallas area but I'm definitely up for exploring the city with a local or someone new to the area like me. Hit me up and let's do some sightseeing!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I am not a seasoned CSer by any means. I have never officially surfed anyone's couch, but I have reached out to CSers in New York City to hang out for the day. The first time I did it I went salsa dancing, saw a Broadway show, did museum sightseeing and had vegan Chinese food. Overall, it was a great experience!

The second time I interacted with CSers was on my most recent trip to NYC (Feb 2013). I met several CSers through a friend who is very active in the CS community. This time around, I not only met people who I consider friends and miss as if I had known for many years (Nelson and Roberto), but overall became reacquainted with the CS community and became inspired to take the plunge and surf someone's couch on my next trip.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Getting married in Tulum with the turquoise ocean in the background. One of the truly breathtaking moments where the memory of it is still surreal.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach Spanish, how to cook Mexican food, and anything having to do with the Paleo lifestyle. I can share my knowledge of El Paso, Crossfit movements, and anything else I may know about. I would like to learn anything you are willing to share with me such a languages and an insight into other cultures as well as anything I have no knowledge of.
