About Me
Hello 👋 !
My name is Cyril and I am 26 ! My little sister and I were born in Chicago 🇺🇸 when my amazing French 🇫🇷 parents were expats there. We all moved back to Paris in 2003 and I spent all my holidays growing up in between my grandparents’ houses in Michigan, Burgundy and near Nantes. I have always been very passionate about football ⚽️, tennis 🎾, skying ⛷️, travelling 🌍 . In adulthood I have developed strong interests in backpacking, hiking, biking, attending sports events, entrepreneurship, politics, wellness and education. Since graduating with a Masters degree from a French Business School 👨🎓 in May 2022, I have been exploring the world about half the time and back in Paris the other half to see missed loved ones, keep a competitive level in football and tennis and allocate some time to a side business that allows me to have this dreamed lifestyle 🌞.
My first adventure as a backpacker was during my studies in the summer of 2019 when I went Bolivia as a Child Care Volunteer 👨👧👦 and then visited Peru and Chile. But the biggest adventure of my life was from May 2022 to March 2023 when I left home for 11 months straight with just one cabin size backpack 🎒. It started with 6 months in a continent I truly fell in love with: Africa (Tunisia, Morocco, Sénégal, Gambia South Africa, Madagascar, Réunion Island, Tanzania). It went on with 2 months and a half in the Middle East in between Qatar (Football World Cup) and Turkey (my girlfriend is from there 👩❤️👨). Finally I flew across the globe to the amazing Australia and New Zealand (where I hitchhiked 👍 and camped 🏕️ across the country). Later on in 2023 I travelled quite a bit in the US, Canada and Europe allowing me complete the childhood dream of attending all 4 Tennis Grand Slams. In 2024 I wanted to explore the last continent missing to the list: Asia with Vietnam, Cambodia and Japan 🏯. Last summer I also spent quite some time in Germany for the Football Euro and then came back to Paris for the summer Olympics. What an incredible journey it has been overall and I can’t wait for what’s ahead !
It has especially been fun to couchsurf 🛋️ in some of these countries and get to meet so many amazing people from this community. Some of you have opened your homes and hearts to me and I will forever be grateful. May we meet again ! As for the ones I shall cross paths with soon, I travel expecting nothing and that’s when amazing things always happen 🙌 ! I am easy-going, knowledgeable and like to have fun, experience new cultures and meet amazing people ! I am open to your best book or movie recommandations and am always down to talk about politics or what makes our world go round 🌎.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
