ABOUT ME
I am a Kenyan student at Bocconi University – recently moved into Milan. I concentrate on finance and just transferred from the University of Pennsylvania. Despite being a part-time student, I am an entrepreneur with edtech business that teaches emerging technologies such as Blockchain, AI, and Data Science in the African continent. If you ever want to have a techie talk, count on me to drop some point.
Now, away from the official stuff, WHO EXACTLY IS CYRIL?
I'd like to say I'm social and love integrating with different cultures. I have lived in three different countries and Italy is my forth (just moved in though). Therefore, I'm pretty social and love to get myself in social gatherings where I can make a friend or two or learn something new about the culture.
There's a catch though, I do love debates, and my social tendencies escalate to interesting debates (psst, not arguments). So, anything from business and the economic recession hitting to Brexit and Populism, I'd love to share insights and have an awesome talk.
What would I do on Friday night? Karaoke! I was once a Karaoke host and it's not cause I can sing! Yepp, you guessed it, I'm as poor as they come in singing but my confidence is relentless when it comes to grabbing the mic and singing a Frank Sinatra/Edith Piaf classic when drunk.
One quirky thing left! I believe that socks are the secret to SOCKSess and so my socks tend to have a personality pegged to it. My socks color reflect my mood and I sure try to be SOCKSessful by wearing interesting patterns or flashy colors. I might not have the fashion sense of the Milanese, but for sure, count myself to beat any Milanese in the socks game. #JustKidding
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I recently moved to Milan and I am trying to get myself familiar with the place. So, I'm still living like a tourist here, but I'd love to meet and interact with people from Milan as I try to blend in, learn the language and some cultural norms.
So, I am either looking for interesting hosts or people who would love to grab a beer or a glass of wine in the weekend. I'm also looking forward to hosting other CouchSurfers, once I find a permanent place in Milan.
