dream until the dreams come true
i like the sweet life and the silence, but it's the storm that i believe in.
i believe what goes around, comes around - but still i try to do things for the sake of doing them, and try to prove myself wrong and find real selflessness.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
i have only done couchsurfing a few times, so my biggest contribution is talking about it and encouraging people to try it themselves.
it's always been a sort of last minute divine intervention, to prove that it's more than okay to rely on people when in need/vulnerable/lost, because fundamentally we're all one and we're all good.
well, mostly people.
and then the zillion things that relate to people.
good conversations, psychology, philosophy, fun.
anything that makes life worth living - whether on the "serious", inquiring and truth-and point-seeking side, or the seemingly meaningless one, with the laughter and the fun that one cannot exist without.
Music, Movies, and Books
to throw some names around in a random order and manner, richard linklater, stan kubrick, jean-pierre jeunet, lars von trier, quentin tarantino, francois ozon (8 femmes!!!), david lynch, wim wenders, jim jarmusch, milos forman, etc ... oh, and i am the biggest sucker for animation movies.
same for music; the doors, marianne faithfull, the rolling stones, patti smith, placebo, rupaul, dolly parton, ani difranco, dub incorporation, radiohead, tom waits, the smiths, david bowie, the cardigans, alanis morissette, tina turner, some electro/psytrance/goa and rap and jazz and stuff. etc
as for books.. the little prince by antoine de saint-exupéry, hands down. hubert selby jr. milan kundera. simone de beauvoir. nick hornby. albert wass, sandor marai. samuel beckett. primo levi. jean-paul sartre. albert camus. virginia woolf... hemingway; russian realism, also magical realism - bulgakov, gabriel garcia marquez.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
a homeless person being overjoyed about the homemade sandwhich i gave him. then we sat down on a bench, smoked a few cigarettes (which he was reluctant to accept) and talked about life. told me the story of his and gave me advice on mine.
