About Me
Sziasztok / Hi all / Hallo alle / Ciao a tutti / Hola a todos / Hei alle sammen! 😊
I’m Gyuri from Hungary! My full name is György (George in English), but that sounds a bit formal in Hungarian, so I go by Gyuri, and I always appreciate it when people use that.
As you might notice, I haven’t been very active on Couchsurfing lately, but I’m excited to get back into it and reconnect with this amazing community!
I live in a peaceful neighbourhood on the Buda side of Budapest. While I used to be more into partying, I prefer meaningful conversations, relaxed hangouts, hiking, and sharing good vibes with like-minded people.
Looking forward to meeting fellow travellers and sharing stories!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing
A friend introduced me to Couchsurfing during my university years, and it immediately clicked with me. I’ve always loved connecting with locals and spending time with them in their own country—it’s one of the most genuine and enriching ways to experience a place!
Interests
I have a deep love for languages and travelling. I enjoy discovering new places, admiring architecture, and—of course—trying local food and drinks. I also love spending time in nature, ice skating in the winter, and recently I’ve gotten into Goa music.

Music, Movies, and Books
I wish I had more time for reading and watching quality movies. My favourite book is The Choice by Edith Eva Eger, but I don’t have a single favourite movie—there are just too many great ones out there!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Visiting Machu Picchu – an unforgettable experience!
Teach, Learn, Share
Teach:
I’d be happy to teach you some Hungarian! :) I also have a huge passion for the Italian language, so I’m always up for a conversation in Italian.
Learn:
I’d love to practice English, German, Italian, and Spanish. And someday, I’d like to learn a bit of French too!
