CURRENT MISSION

I'm looking to meet a nice Korean family that can hopefully speak English in order to make more friends and build relationships while in Korea. I'd love for someone to be able to show me around Seoul and Yonsei University.

ABOUT ME

Hello! I'm a 19-year-old student from the Univeristy of Utah in Salt Lake City of the United States! I grew up in Fairbanks, Alaska, but I moved to Salt Lake City when I was 15 to train as a competitive figure skater. I've been figure skating for 14 years and continue to today. After meeting my best friend, I fell in love with Korea and the Korean culture so much so that I want to live and work there one day. I've been studying the language for two years now and plan on getting fluent enough to work one day for an entertainment company in Korea. I am very interested in music and Korea has an enormous business in music in which I one day want to be a part of. Besides figure skating, I love dancing, gymnastics, exercising and meeting new people.

PHILOSOPHY

I am here on this earth to fulfill my dreams. I already know my goals and interests and who I am and I'm ready to do whatever I can and work as hard as I need to in order to accomplish those dreams. I am here to do God's bidding for me wherever He takes me and I am excited for life!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have qualified for 5 consecutive national championships in figure skating and been to World Championships twice in tae-kwon-do when I was young.

Teach, Learn, Share

I am fluent in both English and Spanish as I am of Mexican decent and have grown up my whole life in the United States. I can teach about American culture, music, life, etc. I have also been figure skating all of my life and have the ability to teach students of all levels.

Most importantly I would love to continue my education of the Korean language. It is the whole reason that I am coming to Korea in the first place. Secondly and probably just as important, I want to learn how to navigate Korea on my own. That means subways, trains, taxis, the whole works. Included in that I'd love to learn about where are all the interesting places such as ice rinks, dance clubs, malls, museums, anad just recreational areas. I am also beginning Chinese this semester so Chinese language is a small focus.
