I'm at Couchsurfing as I want to meet new people. When you travel and stay in a hotel/hostel there is no real connection with anyone. The most important is that you meet nice people from all over the world and get to know how the locals live and experience the city you visit.
For me meeting local people is one of the best ways to really getting to know and to understand a country.
I believe it's the people you meet along the way that can make you remember your trip forever.
