ABOUT ME

I love the adventure of travel, and especially seeing all the many different ways other people live - the work, the leisure, the religion, and the food! All around the world people have wisdom to offer, sometimes explicitly, and sometimes just by modelling a different way of doing something, like taking life slowly and caring for your relatives.

I am lucky enough to have a job that leads me to some pretty incredible places. I make software for hospitals in developing countries in the Pacific, South Asia, and Africa. When I get a chance I investigate other corners of the globe :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I've always enjoyed having visitors, especially because they open your eyes to what is beyond you, but also what is right in your area. By sharing, you get to see and appreciate your own place a bit more.

I've had lots of friends couchsurf, but I started officially by having a lovely couple stay at my place, and had a great time together. After that positive experience I've used the website myself to meet interesting people and get a more local experience in Australia and Japan.

I love the way that when you stay with someone, you get to experience just a little more of the real life in a new place. After all, that's what travel's about, right?
