About Me

I'm always up for something different. I'd say I'm a creative, spontaneous, open-minded and accepting person with a lot of energy and a lot of patience. I never hesitate to look for the light in a dark place.
I'm also horrible at describing myself.

Currently studying Writing & Creative Communication, with a sub-major in Film & TV.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Able to host depending on timing, always happy to show travellers around. I've only had positive experiences so far, always learning and forming unique connections.

Interests

My life revolves around my writing, and I take every opportunity to draw inspiration for stories to create and worlds to invent. I write a lot of short stories and poetry, occasionally dabble in film scripts and lyrics - and at the moment I'm working on my first novel.
I've produced a few short films for uni, still learning my way around the camera but hope to get around to filming some more short films and music videos for local bands.

I love exploring new and unfamiliar places- whether that be a foreign country, an untouched natural setting or just a graffitied alleyway with friends and a camera. I would really love to see Scandinavia (Iceland in particular)

I also love music, although all I can play at the moment is the guitar and a little ukulele (with all the skill of a brain-damaged sloth). I can show you the ropes of the local music scene in Adelaide, and when I travel it's always one of the first things I want to discover about a city.

Music, Movies, and Books

I listen to mostly to old-school hardcore punk, but I also love jazz, metal, grunge, alternative, indie, folk, post-hardcore, and soul. The first thing I'm interested in discovering in a new place is the local music scene, and when I host people I'll be certain to introduce you to ours.

I have huge passion for film and visual storytelling, and am likely to overanalyse anything I watch. I particularly love surrealist films, like those of David Lynch, Jean Cocteau and Maya Deren.

I'll read anything written well with a good storyline. My favourite authors are George Orwell, Edgar Allan Poe, Victor Hugo, Sylvia Plath, Anthony Burgess, Meredith Ann Pierce and Dante Alighieri.

Teach, Learn, Share

Adelaide is a great little city when you get to know it. On the surface it can appear there's not much going on, but if you know where to go there is plenty of life. Let me show you the ropes of the city.
