Hi! My name is Daan and I'm a 19 year old male from the Netherlands . I am currently travelling through Europe with my best friend from Australia, which is where I grew up. As long as we've been friends we've talked about travelling together, and now we're finally making our dream come true.
I love experiencing new things and meeting new people, which is exactly why I am travelling. So far, I have met the most amazing people, all in different countries and from different nationalities. I would like to experience as much as I can before I start studying psychology at the University of Amsterdam next year.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Being the young traveller that I am, my funds are somewhat limited. Sometimes it hard to find affordable accomodation in places I would like to visit, which is why Couchsurfing is a perfect solution for this problem.
Besides that (as I mentioned in my description), I love meeting new people in different places, which is exactly what Couchsurfing offers.

Music, Movies, and Books

I have a very varied taste in music. Most of all, I love techno, because I have never seen people as united as at a techno festival. Therefore, I go to a lot of techno festivals, which I can fortunately do for free a lot of the time, seeing as I promote for a lot of techno organisations.
Besides that, I'm a big fan of the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Green Day and Nirvana.

My favorite movie has to be any movie by Quentin Tarantino. That man can create the most random situation and make a blockbuster out of it. Incredbible. Every single one of his movies has blown me away.

I love the Dan Brown novels, because I am very interested in history and he creates incredible historical mysteries. The combined elements of history and mystery are fascinating to read, which is why I can easily devour them in a day or two.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The most amazing thing I have ever done is diving at the Great Barrier Reef. While we lived in Australia, my parents wanted to see as much of the country as we could. Naturally, we visited the Great Barrier Reef. That experience is one which I will never forget. I have never seen anything as breathtakingly beautiful as that.

Teach, Learn, Share

I speak three languages fluently, so I can always teach those. Besides that I have given football training, so I can also teach football (soccer for some).

What I Can Share with Hosts

I am very capable at cooking, so I can provide the hosts with great meals. Having grown up in Australia and having travelled for the past three months, I also have some unique and very amusing stories. I am very extroverted, so I am able to chat with everyone about anything.
