I am Daan, from the Netherlands. At the moment I'm studying a masters in Forest and Nature Conservation.

Since I was very young I fell in love with the mountains. Although there are none in the Netherlands I am trying to explore them elsewhere whenever it's possible. Beside going into the mountains I like to be very active and spontaneous. While traveling I really enjoy getting to know new cultures

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I always wanted to try couchsurfing and I decided to start with it during a bicycle tour in 2022. I really like the concept, so i hope to give back and host other travelers as well. For me the best part is to get to know more like minded people

Books: I've never read a lot but i'm trying to get into it, so recommendations are welcome :)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I went solo by bicycle from the Netherlands, through the Alps, to Rome 🚴‍♂️
Lived in the Buduburam Refugee Camp in Ghana for 3,5 months

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you the Dutch language and share my stories with you! I learned to cook some West African dishes during my time in Ghana, so I can teach you that as well (if you can handle the spices haha)

What I Can Share with Hosts

I always like to learn how to cook food from different places in the world, so I would love to help with that. I consider myself to be a clean and respectfull person.
Oh and I'm always in the mood for hiking, exploring, drinks or games
