About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To enrich my life by traveling and experiencing new cultures and new friendly faces.
ABOUT ME
I'm a gal who simply loves to travel. It's very basic, but it's my dream to just backpack across the world. I love meeting new and great people who have the same interests. I enjoy photography and so it fits in pretty well with traveling. I love the arts, so I tend to gravitate towards anything that involves creativity such as music, painting, photography, film, etc...
I'm an animal person, so I love pets. Leaving my dog behind will be the most difficult part in my efforts to travel.
PHILOSOPHY
Live life every day like it's your last. I have trouble sometimes following this motto, but it's so very true. You never know what the future holds, be it positive or negative.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I would like to host people as well as be hosted when I start to travel extensively. Once I have a place in Japan and get settled, I should have a couch/futon open to the CS community.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
The closest I've gotten to couch surfing is staying in hostels. So, I can't say I've had the privilege yet.

Music, Movies, and Books
Movies are an escape for me. I have an extremely extensive list. To name a top few: Labyrinth, Dark Crystal, Perfume: Story of a Murderer, The Fall, Neverending Story, and Willow
Music: From Muse to Kylie Minogue. Yes, Kylie Minogue.
Books: I tend to read a lot. I love fantasy and horror novels. But, I love period dramas and biographies as well. I'm all over the place. My favorite recent read was Acacia by David Anthony Durham.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
My 3 week trip to Japan in 2005 was a life changing experience. It pushed me towards my goal to learn Japanese and live in the country at least for a year. Specifically on this trip, my stay in Koyasan was almost a spiritual experience. It was the most beautiful and haunting place I've ever been. It ignited a fire in me to see more of these places in the world more than anything.
Teach, Learn, Share
I'm from Austin Texas. Texas is not all cowboys, horses, and guns. We are all not raised on a farm and I like to teach people that being Texan means more than the stereotypes that are put out there. I'm a film nerd and I tend to love discussions about film. I love sharing and learning about other films from people.
