ABOUT ME

My name is Jonas, I grew up in Wacken, but now I am living in Norderstedt next to Hamburg an the airport. I finished my big trip around the world beginning of 2019. I mostly hitchhiked for 14 month around the world. I think I am a easy going man. I am always happy and a positive thinking person, extrovert, talk active, hitchhiker, adventurer, spontaneous, beer bottle opener! I have to be with other. I can't be alone for more than one day! Sometimes I talk a lot and I am a little bit crazy but that's me.

I live here with my girlfriend together in a 3 room apartment.

My hometown is quite popular in Germany because of the Heavy Metal festival called Wacken Open Air. Rock is luckily exactly the music I'm into. I like being with people either just talking or partying.

At the moment I working close to Hamburg as an electronics / software developer in renewable energy sector, we produce solar water pumps, since September 2019.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I traveled through Australia. I surfed there just once. Since then I hosted and surfed a lot and still love the system and idea behind couchsurfing.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Just great. All my guests were great. You meet so much different persons with here different culture. It's so interesting to talk and learn about it.

Interests

I like to travel and to meet new people. But thats like everyone here.
I like the adventure. Just to travel with no destinations.
(But see below -> Amazing Thing Done/Seen)
So that's also the reason why I do hitchhiking. I like the spirit of hitchhiking. Not just to get from A to B for free. It's like Couchsurfing! It is ideal for travel. You never know exactly the destination. It's so spontaneous.

"Find my direction magnetically" by Eddie Vedder

I like to go out, to cook, to chat, to drink a beer and the best is to do it not alone but with other. So you will see, I like it to have other around me.

I also like musik thats actually one of my main part in my life. I don't play but I listening allways.
Then I like to hike. I like it if you do a long distance hike and you have the freedom to sleep where you like it most. When you find a nice place you can stay there and enjoy it.

I also like reading, concerts, festivals, series...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

From 2018 to 2019 I mostly hitchhiked around the world, concretely I hitchhiked 30 000+ km. If you wanna know more, check aenywheere.de

My first really cool experience was a trip to the north cape with my best friend. We did it with his car and we drove in 24 hours 1900km. We saw the midnight sun and it was great. We hiked and enjoyed just the life. Norway has a awesome landscape. It is perfect to relax there.

The other was my eight month trip through Australia. I did the same like thousand other - work and travel. It was a really cool time. I worked a lot but I had even more fun. You meet so much different kinds of person at a trip like that. I learned a lot about me and now I know that I like the kind of travelling with no plans and no real destinations. The way is the destination and that is what I like. Every day a new little adventure. For a good holiday trip it is not important to see the biggest, oldes, highest or whatever stuff. It is important that you like and enjoy what you do and live the day how you feel.

Also I hitchhiked from Germany to Istanbul and back! It was all in all a 8 weeks trip. Where I participate at a hitchhiking race (tramprennen.org) first and then traveled with a couple of friends further.

Hitchhiking is my passion! I did a couple long distance hitchhiking trips for example from Dresden to the Serbia / Macedonia Border in under 38h or Hamburg to Glasgow in under 32h!

Teach, Learn, Share

I want to share my stories around my trips and the big festival in my little village.

I part of an organisation team for a big hitchhiking race through europe. The last years there have been more than 150 participants. We have a hompage what you could check out, it's tramprennen.org
