ABOUT ME

Kyle is my first name, I prefer to go by my middle name, James. I grew up in southern Ontario but have lived on the West Coast for years and am working to establish a permanent home here.

PHILOSOPHY

I believe in the Perennial Wisdom that lays beneath the tattered remains and shallow moralisms of all the great traditions. I believe modernity is a spiritual dark age and that as long as all phenomenon that can't be explained by materialist scientism are denied or ignored, our innate drive toward understanding will remain the slave of the industry that is tearing our world to shreds. Blame, however, is worse then useless because all things are subject to ebb and flow, rise and fall. Everyone plays their role in that great theater that is Life

I have a VERY diverse spectrum of interests and will talk about almost anything.

Some of my favorite topics include: history, symbolism, travel experience, finding more sane ways to live,government cover-ups, outsmarting the confused old men that think they rule the world. spirituality and traditional metaphysics.

I like working, I just can't stand having a job that requires me to live in ways that don't suit my nature. What I mean is, don't hesitate to ask for my help on any kind of random projects you may have. I have experience assisting in many trades including; earthen building (cob and straw bale), indoor and outdoor painting, landscaping and concrete form work.

I grew up sailing and am always down for some boating. Need crew?

I do Hatha Yoga as part of my spiritual practice.

I'v been known to dabble in historical swords play.

I work with the Tarot, which is a language, not a superstition. There is nothing "magical" about 78 pieces of cardboard. The universe we live in is always trying to tell us something. This is a means of having a conversation with it. I can act as an interperater.

I consider everyone I meet a teacher. Sometimes I'm a teacher too.
I always like to learn something new.
