About Me

2025 Sep

✨ Hi, I’m Daisy!
My Chinese, Spanish, and English names all share the same pronunciation so feel free to call me however you like, I won’t be offended haha.

🩵I’m 23 and have been backpacking solo for a while. At first it was simply because I didn’t enjoy my major and needed some space to breathe. But once I started walking, I discovered the power of the journey itself the flow that comes from just moving forward.

🥾 I love hiking, diving, and recently I’ve fallen in love with bouldering. For me, these are deeply immersive activities that bring me into the present. I’m not someone who sticks rigidly to plans; I like to come up with ideas and adapt along the way.

🤝 Safety, respect, and kindness are very important to me. I value equal and open communication, respecting boundaries and cultural backgrounds. When I visit, I usually bring a small gift 🎁 it’s simply my way of showing respect and wishing you happiness, though please don’t feel any pressure. I’m also happy to help in practical ways: feeding cats 🐱, walking dogs 🐶, making breakfast for kids 🥞, or washing dishes…

🍲 I’m passionate about food and see it as a window into culture, anthropology, and society. I’m not much into drinking for the sake of drinking 🍷, unless it’s part of a truly special experience. What excites me more is meaningful conversation I believe we can always learn from each other.

🇦🇺 In 2026, I’ll be in Australia and I hope to host travelers myself, to give back to this amazing community.

Looking forward to meeting more like-minded adventurers and sharing stories together! 🌟

Meeting new people and making friends along the way is one of my favorite parts of the journey. Looking forward to connecting with more like-minded adventurers!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I’m a passionate backpacker, driven by the desire to meet new people and make friends from all walks of life. Traveling with just a backpack allows me to experience the world in an authentic way, connecting with others and sharing stories along the journey. It’s the friendships I build and the memories we create together that make my adventures truly meaningful.

Interests

Sep 2025

When it comes to interests, I think they’re one of the best ways to connect with new friends! I love hiking, and two dream destinations of mine are the Dolomites in Italy and Patagonia in southern Argentina and Chile. Besides that, I’d love to experience every U.S. national park — I’m absolutely passionate about road trips!

I’m also a big food lover. Exploring the world through food feels like such a fun and meaningful way to travel. I enjoy listening to different perspectives, experiences, and ideas about food from around the world.

Music, Movies, and Books

Sep 2025

My taste in music is really broad — I have a sensitive ear and a good sense for melodies and vibes. Lately, I’ve been really into bossa nova and Latin party music. Let’s dance freely to the rhythm together!

I also love watching horror movies (haha!), and I enjoy animated films too. If a scene is really touching, I might secretly shed a tear… please don’t call me out and make me embarrassed, haha.

I like reading books on anthropology and folklore as well. Through them, I’ve gained a glimpse into different corners of the world.

I used to work in the music copyright trading business, where I gained a deep appreciation for the creative industry. I’m particularly fond of hip-hop, a genre that resonates with me both musically and culturally. My experience in the music world has given me a unique perspective on the power of art and expression.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One of the most meaningful, amazing things I’ve done is volunteering on Be My Eyes, an app that connects visually impaired individuals with sighted volunteers from around the world. Through the app, I’m able to provide assistance whenever they need a bit of guidance in their daily lives—whether it’s locating a specific button on a remote, checking a flight status, or confirming if medication is still safe to use. Each time I receive a heartfelt “thank you” from someone I’ve helped, it feels incredibly rewarding. The connection we create, even just through a brief interaction, reminds me of the power of small acts of kindness.
