About Me
I'm a writer and aid worker specialising in communications but currently taking a break from work and travelling around the US!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Through my work I have lived and travelled in several countries and I have always found that getting to know local people allows you to see a whole different side of a place. Now I am travelling for pleasure I'd love to continue getting to know people along the way and find out more about where they live.
Interests
Writing, walking, nature, learning languages, *amateur* yoga, meditation, learning about other cultures and religions.

Music, Movies, and Books
Currently in a folk music phase, listening to a lot of Simon and Garfunkel for my America trip! Also large amounts of alt rock, pop and Motown tunes.
Books wise I'm a big fan of Franzen and Donna Tartt, Salinger, Fitzgerald, Kazuo Ishiguro and Agatha Christie!!
Movies that have stayed with me are The Secret in Their Eyes, Breathless, Heartbeats, Atonement, Inside Llewyn Davies, Withnail and I, Rear Window, Vertigo etc.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Earlier this year I taught a creative writing class for working street children in Kabul, Afghanistan. It was incredibly inspiring and I learned a lot from the children there!
What I Can Share with Hosts
Stories from some of the places I've lived, exuberant conversation about anything and everything, and good fresh Mexican cooking (although can't promise for its authenticity as I've never actually been!)
Countries I’ve Visited
Afghanistan, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Costa Rica, Croatia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Guernsey, India, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Jordan, Spain, Sweden, United Kingdom, United States
Countries I’ve Lived In
