Everyone needs some adventure in their life every so often, and although the initial move abroad as an expat is exciting at first, after a decade of living in Paris, it becomes the norm. I took a cabin luggage and started to hit the road since 2020, right after the first lockdown of Paris. At the beginning, I’ve planned to only stay one week in Portugal, instead, as I don’t have a return to office date so I prolong my stay every two weeks. It is a brand new experience that I travelled with no plan and no end date. I just chase the waves, from one surf spot to another, having an endless summer.

I admit that I had terrifying moments of solitude on the road, but soon this feeling will be buried by the adventures. Driving alone in the wild nature and discovering the secret spot, witnessing the most beautiful scene all alone, and of course, the most interesting parts is to come across the free souls and experience the joy of connecting and the pain of saying goodbye at the same time. I’ve learnt that rather than seeking something lasts longer, why not just enjoy the moment and let the destiny make this happen.
