About Me

My name is Dakota. I'm in the process of starting two businesses without a college degree, so the whole thing is a learning experience. But I enjoy it, even if it's incredibly stressful I wouldn't want to do anything else. Creating worlds through our games and teaching others how to do the same has been great and I only want to do more as time goes on.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I started on here to find a place in San Francisco while I attended GDC. I've always liked the concept of couchsurfing and now I'm going to find out what it would be like to stay with complete strangers in a strange land. If it goes well maybe I'll be a host in the future!

Interests

Creating things, I love to write, design, direct, and develop. I'm not much of an artist but I love the medium, I put most of my earnings to creating more art. I just love the idea of someone being able to turn my words into something tangible. I guess that's why I'm also fond of actors and cosplayers. They take something two dimensional and bring it to life. It's amazing.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music I typically listen to is the softer side of EDM. I'm usually writing so I want something with a good beat but not too distracting. So melodic dubstep, drum and bass, and so on are what I tend to listen to.

My favorite book is Airman by Eoin Colfer and series is probably The Ranger's Apprentice by John Flanagan.

My favorite movie might be Jame's Cameron's Avatar for it's overall structure but I'm always happy to see a smaller title that focuses on the struggles of the average person such as The Intouchables.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Climbed the face of a mountain without any safety gear because I was a lazy and stupid teenager that wasn't going to walk back around it.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'm new to traveling so I don't have a ton of those stories but I am a writer so I can always make up something ;)
