*I don't like judgmental people, and try to correct myself when I find that I swerve into being that myself

*I am hard of hearing (deaf in one ear, damage in the other), so sometimes break personal space boundaries in order to hear, which can make people uncomfortable - sorry about that, but I would like to hear what is being said!

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Have traveled with many CS hosts - awesome! New member in 2012, and have now hosted about 150 times. Good experiences for the most part. I like to be myself - usually people can relate to me, but a few just want a room and small talk - that is not the Spirit of Couchsurfing, which is for the brave and the adventuresome and the open-minded.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My (then) 17 year old daughter and I traveled through much of Norway, spending 9 nights with CS hosts, and met some others who toured us through their town, or met us for coffee/lunch/dinner. I have also traveled around the most beautiful place on earth - Glacier Park - staying with couchsurf hosts.

Enseña, aprende, comparte

I love people. I enjoy deep conversation. I have many experiences and am open about them. People that have hang ups and insecurities should stay in a hotel, not in my home. People that are afraid to say when conversation makes them "uncomfortable," and then say nothing about their comfort zone to avoid "awkwardness," and then post on the Internet things they were told in private (and think it is OK to do so), are cowards, thieves, gossips, and emotional rapists - they should not request to stay in my home. The rest of you are very welcome indeed! Please feel free to say things to me in private that you feel I can learn from. That is the Spirit of Couchsurfing.
