I'm a seaweed processor based in SW England. I started the company Channelled Atlantic with a few friends, our aim being to supply fermented liquid seaweed to farmers to provide them with an organic input which will reduce reliance on manufactured chemicals as well as improve the soil which crops are grown out of.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Whenever I go away I like to stay with couchsurfers. There's a lot of fear in the world about meeting new people but i think with those who buck the trend, i often end up having really great nights sharing stories. that's it really. I'll pick up a hitch hiker if i see one, as others have done for me, and i believe in passing on good deeds. I'll be sure to bring some of my seaweed product as a thanks.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I met a guy on the beach during the tail end of a really bad storm whose boat had sunk and been washed up to the shore. I offered to help get his boat off the beach and he was so grateful for the help he invited me back to his for dinner with him and his girlfriend! And a good dinner was the best thing EVER for a backpacker - as well as all the chocolate and wine we consumed.
