ABOUT ME

Hey there! My name's Dale, I'm thirty and I come from a place in Australia that nobody has heard of -Wagga Wagga, New South Wales. I made the fateful decision to leave the bright lights and dizzy heights of Wagga nearly ten years ago and what was originally meant to be a year's working holiday away from Australia has now turned into something much bigger.

Since arriving in Europe, I've lived in England, France and Poland and spent plenty of time travelling in between. I'm currently settled in Wrocław and can't see myself leaving anytime soon.

It's been a while since I was active on Couchsurfing but I've decided to get back into it this summer. Though I'm not currently able to host, it would still be great to meet some new people.

So far I've visited thirty-five European countries and I'm looking forward to the final nine.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have hosted and been hosted, and my experiences have all been brilliant. From wine-tasting in Bordeaux to concerts in Florence to Port in Porto, Couchsurfing is easily one of the most enjoyable and rewarding experiences I've had!

Intereses

History, fine art, architecture and literature. Classical, Stoic and Nietszchean philosophy are there too but I also love working with my hands. I feel there's no sensation quite like the satisfaction you get from looking at a finished product that you've put together.
I like being outdoors, surrounded by nature. I grew up on a farm and later in life I think I'd like to find myself back on one.

Música, películas y libros

My music interests include old school rock and metal like The Scorpions, Iron Maiden, Guns and Roses, Judas Priest etc. I'm also a fan of classical music, celtic music and Johnny Cash. I play guitar, though not very well so I'm looking for someone to jam with!

The great Russian writers: Dostoevsky, Tolstoy and Bulgakov.

My favourite films would include The Goonies, LOTR and any good action/adventure.

Worked high up in the Italian Alps for a month on a farm and woke up to see the snow-capped glaciers each morning.
Built a shed with skills I picked up from Youtube.
Learned Irish dancing from a Youtube video with a Guatemalan guy I met while couch surfing.
