Overview
About Me
CURRENT MISSION
I like to travel and see the world and meet new people along the way...and pay back the favor by hosting travelers in my home.
ABOUT ME
I'm single, 44, professional. I'm generally quiet, but enjoy laughs and fun times with a few friends. I prefer smaller groups of people to large, loud groups. I am a biologist/botanist. I work with endangered species for a branch of federal government (13 years). I love being outside when the weather is nice, either working in the yard, hiking a local trail or biking on the wonderful greenways that we have in Raleigh.
PHILOSOPHY
Humm...live right, respect others, be kind, pay it forward and enjoy everything in moderation.
“Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness" Mark Twain
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I would like to use Couch Surfing to be able to travel, see new places, meet new people and pay it forward by hosting folks in my city.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I have hosted people in my home before and found it to be very enjoyable and enlightening. I also enjoy staying in hostels when I travel and meeting a diverse group of people that enjoy that type of travel.
Interests
I enjoy gardening, hiking, biking, camping, nature, home projects, photography, art, travel, music, etc. As far as travel, I especially enjoy Mexico and Latin America. I've been to Mexico about 10 times (13 states) and hope to make more trips there this year. I've attended language schools there and would like to do more of that type of travel.

Music, Movies, and Books
I'm not much of a movie fan. I enjoy all types of music. I don't sit still all that often, so I'm not a big book reader.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Walked among the monarch butterflies in Michoacan, Mexico. Snorkeled with sea turtles in St. John, USVI. Hiked through vineyards and olive groves in the Cinque Terre, Italy.
Teach, Learn, Share
Wow, I'm going to have to think about this one.
