ABOUT ME

There's not really a whole lot that I can say about myself. I mean, I'm just....me, lol. I'm Amy's freaky little sister, the girl who reads too much and doesn't socialize enough. I'm reserved but have no problem expressing myself if the need or want arises. I'm a complete burnout and sometimes have no filter between my brain and my mouth, yet I try not to step on any toes just for lack of conflict and drama. My cat Ozzie is the best man I've ever encountered as of yet and that's kind of pathetic. I worry too much about what others think of me yet at the same time couldn't give a shit less. People tend to either take me the wrong way or not get me at all, but I think that has to do with my reluctance to let others in. Right now, I'm working on figuring out what I want to do with my life, trying to figure out who I am.........

PHILOSOPHY

Not everyday is going to be perfect. Take the bad and turn it into good. Oh, and never be afraid to ask questions! You never know what a simple, "What is that you're eating? It looks yummy" can lead to!

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Right now I'm not doing all that I COULD be. I just moved a couple months ago and am still trying to get settled, AND I start school in August. I'm pretty busy. But I do tell pretty much everyone I meet about CS and what it does.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I haven't CSed or hosted by using the site yet, but when I was barely 18 I got stranded in Miami by my supposed best friend and this woman, seeing how upset I was, let me sleep on her couch that night. She even let me call my mom long distance and drove me half way to meet her. I'll never forget her and I still send holiday cards to her and her family.

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

I've seen so many incredible things already but I think a couple that stand out the most have been ones that changed me in a large way. One year we drove from Florida to Michigan and stayed in a camping ground near the UP. We stayed in a small cabin and even though it was very modern, I had a great deal of time to just sit. I went walking one day and just the beauty of getting lost in the woods with no other signs of human life touched me in a way I still can't describe in words. It made me respect what most take for granted because they live in houses in suburbs with landscaped trees....It was wild and beautiful and just....untamed.
Just about two weeks ago I went and stayed in Sarasota for a week. It was the usual beach trip with swimsuits and BBQs and too much to drink. But it rained a lot and growing bored of being inside, I talked my Nana into driving into St. Pete to the Dali museum. He had always been one of my favorite artists and definitely my favorite surrealist, but nothing could have prepared me for standing in front of a nearly two story tall painting of his wife overlooking the sea. As well as many others. My feelings were so haywire that day because of what his works brought out of me. His lobster phone made me crack up, certain nudes made my mouth hang open, some made me incredibly sad, and yet still others made me feel as if I was in a nightmare. It was an emotional, amusing, disquieting adventure.

I truly wish to learn about and from other cultures. How different people live day to day, their music, art, history, and especially how women fit into their particular society.
