About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Not just find an adventure, but live an adventure.

ABOUT ME

Just your average college student who has a very close twin brother. I take my studies seriously, but I don't let them govern my life. I few things I'm into...the outdoors, music (I play several instruments, my favorite being the mandolin), photography, and travel. I'd like to think I'm a very friendly and outgoing person-- feel free to send me a message or talk anytime!

PHILOSOPHY

I want to live to get the most out of life. I want to see all there is to see and experience all this world has to offer. I'm drawn to cold, atypical traveling destinations-- something about the solitude of the cold winter draws me in.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I hope to make traveling a fun, interesting, and affordable experience. I participate in couchsurfing to make the incredible values of traveling more accessible to all. I'm a willing host, but definitely like to capitalize on this awesome exchange!

Interests

Adventure grabs my attention. I like just diving into new things. Of course, adventure is supplemented by a few key things...

Music! I love music, and have always been musical. I'll always stop for a street side performance.

Food! Nothing like the smell of a delicious meal to drag you down exploring a backstreet.

People! I love meeting people and exchanging stories. I've been known to strike up a conversation with anyone willing to talk. I feel like I have many "tales" to tell, and really enjoy sharing where I come from.

As far as filling my time goes, I like to work with my camera, read, and relax whenever I can.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

First and foremost, climbing Preikestolen (Pulpit Rock) in Norway-- during the winter. It was 4 hours up of knee deep snow and bitter cold. The view at the top could not be more worth it, though. A sheer drop 2000ft over a gorgeous fjord was an ethereal experience. There was no one around for miles, giving me the impression that I had the entire fjord all to myself. That experience contains my favorite memories (and pictures!)

I'd say my next amazing moment would have to be a morning climb of Mount Madison, in the White Mountains of New Hampshire, to watch the sunrise. Beginning at the foot of the mountain, our trek began at 3 am. We climbed up with only the lights of our headlamps, and managed to make it to the top just in time to watch the sunrise. It's radiance was truly stunning over the forests of New Hampshire. Despite being a particularly cold morning, it was one of my favorite moments.

Being born in Hong Kong, I've always had deep ties to China. Just recently did I manage to make to the Great Wall, though! Walking the wall, a wonder I've heard so many things about, I could not believe I was actually there. I revered that amazing feat of human strength and accomplishment.

Teach, Learn, Share

I know a lot about photography. Also, I have a good amount of wilderness experience, and am willing to share what I know about hiking/backpacking. I'm not bad with computers (as well as editing software).
