Overview
About Me
Let's have a coffee, or a glass of wine. Let's go on an endless walk through the city with its soulless buildings... I enjoy deep conversations until early morning. Would you like to go to a village with me? I love to go hitchhiking, camping. Meeting people. Experiencing life!
Let's say hi and goodbye, and amidst all this chaos, make a memory together! :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing
In the past more than ten years, I have met so many beautiful people on here.* All these hello's and goodbye's, countless memories! As so many wonderful people in the world have amazed me, I hope to give something back.
Sadly, as the years have gone by, I am now an old man of 30 years and find myself more drawn into “real life”, so I can not always host, just like I can not always travel like before. (Want to escape together? 🥰)
For who's interested: in Dutch, I write about my travels through Russia, Central-Eastern-Europa, and Central-Asia. Die verhalen lees je hier: www.roesland.nl.
* Unfortunately, I lost my old profile († 2013–2018, 113 references a.k.a. memories).

Music, Movies, and Books
I mostly like arthouse cinema and documentary film (I am a huge fan of IDFA! 🤩). I mostly read Russian ‘village prose’ (Astafjev, Rasputin, such things) and books like Paustovski's biography.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
The whole world is amazing! I hitchhiked over frozen rivers in Siberia and through burning deserts in Kazakhstan, slept without a tent in the high mountains Kyrgyzstan, traveled by train all the way from Amsterdam to Singapore, went on a crocodile-hunting trip with an indigenous family in Panama (Ngobé-Buglé), and lived with several other indigenous communities (Guna, Iban) in villages without water and electricity. But most importantly: I met so many incredible and inspiring people! Every meeting becomes a memory, even the shortest ones.
