My name is Damian, I'm 20 and I'm French. I still a student and I study mechanical engineering.

I usualy love to travel by hitch-hiking but I never tried couchsurfing before. I'm in an Erasmus exchange in Riga for 6 months, and I want to take advantage from my exchange to travel a lot in Europe ! I would love to meet new people, new cities, new cultures, new flavour, etc...

When I was studying in France, I did not have the time to move around Europe, because my study are taking a big place in my schedule. Hopefully, here in Riga my schedule allow me to move and discover a lot of european cities, and in the meantime try couchsurfing ! Unfortunately I won't have the time to use hitch-hiking this time.

I don't have money enough to verify my account, because I still a student...

我为什么加入 Couchsurfing

I am convinced that we don't need to move to travel. Travelling is above all state of mind. Travelling is about meeting new people, exchanging ideas, point of view, discovering new cultures. Couchsurfing allows us to do that. We can travel welcoming people, we can share experiences, learn a lot about the life in the host city and avoid the tourist trap.
Couchsurfing is in my opinion the best way to travel (with hitch-hiking) because we can meet locals, and it permits to travel staying home while the time is a problem.

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

I've made an hitch-hiking race around France. This race by team of two allowed us to meet a lot of new people, from very different background., but above all from my country. I understood thanks to this "race" that we don't need to go far in the world to meet new people and share experiences, point of view, culture.

I'd love to discuss to my host about their experiences, their lifestyle, their hobbies,etc..
Of course I'd love to do that around a meal or a beer !
