I just moved to Seattle from the east coast and am learning the land out here. I'm new to the couch surfing thing, but have traveled lots around the world and am the type to choose a hostel over a hotel. I'm pretty easy going and look for a balance of being social and getting lost on my own. Good food, good drinks, good times are all appreciated : )

It seems like a great way to meet people and explore an area. So much of traveling is about the people you meet and hotels just don't generally cut it in that regard. Hostels are fun, but in the US just not the same as in other countries.

My thing tends to be economics. I worked in international development for a while and I'm now at big timber company where I get to learn about other countries, their policies, markets/economics, people, etc... I'm an adventurer at heart and places far away always seem to get more of my attention than the actual place I'm in : P
