Hi, I'm 30 years old and have been working as a flooding engineer for the past year in New Zealand. Previously worked in Melbourne and Perth, Australia. I'm currently backpacking through South and Central America for the next year (woohoo!). I like most outdoor activities (hiking, rock climbing, swimming etc) and also quite like a beer or two in the evenings.

Music, Movies, and Books

I can never remember my favorite anything. But current books/authors I've read and liked in the past month: Cormac McCarthy (The Road), Ian McEwan (particularly Sweet Tooth), Gone Girl, The Song of Achilles. I like many films, a few stand outs: Cabin In The Woods and the first two Hunger Games. I like almost all music (except from the traditional Peruvian highlands).

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Hmm, well I just climbed Aconcagua (highest mountain outside the Himalayas). And I learnt to ride a motorbike through the Himalayas. And I've waded across the Guadalupe with my sister just so we could stand in Mexico for 5 minutes.

I'm keen to learn more Spanish, but I'm still at beginner level. Also keen to see the local attractions, from cool hikes and rookie rock climbing to the best local pub in town.
