About Me

I was born in NYC and spent four years living in Paris when I was younger. I'm half French and because my parents worked for the world bank I grew up in a very international household. I got the travel bug extremely young and despite just no officially signing up for couch surfing I think I've basically been traveling this way my whole life. I love meeting new people and sharing meaningful experiences. I'm about to start residency in emergency medicine and worked as an EMT before that. I spent 4 years starting an ambulance service in Kathmandu, Nepal before beginning medical school. My true interest right now is in wilderness medicine and search and rescue operations.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm on couchsurfing because I think meeting and hanging with local people, no matter where you are, is the best way to see and experience a place and culture. I love sharing my favorite local spots. There's no greater satisfaction in life than to see someone else appreciate and experience something you love for the first time. That, and I've been on the road and know first hand how amazing the warmth and generosity of a strangers house can be when your traveling.

Interests

Man, too many to list. My passions include rock climbing, skiing and snowboarding, mountain biking, trail running with my dog Kali, playing music, hearing live music, surfing, cooking, backpacking and basically anything else you can do outside. Honestly, I'm pretty much open to any new experience and strongly believe in keeping and open mind. Traveling and seeing the world led me to my career in medicine and where I am today and I plan on staying curious for the rest of my life.

Music, Movies, and Books

I've been on a big funk and soul kick lately. Listening to a lot of the old stax albums as well as really getting into Bluegrass music. Blues will always be in my soul and Nashville has some of the best divey blues you can find. I don't have too much time for movies these days but if I'm gonna pay money and waste 2 hours it better make me either laugh or think. Call of the Wild is an all-time favorite book. A day in the life of Ivan Denisovich and Shantaram as well.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Everyday's amazing. I ate a pound of bacon 3 days ago. I climbed a 1,000 foot desert spire in a lion onesie... amazing? stupid?
