1. Over-the-top friendly, tend to meet people easily and run into them frequently
2. Prone to philosophy, just poke me and I will snap out of it
3. Big dork about new tech, often found saying "But think about the potential!" just a little too loudly.

I think people are more easily defined by the things they are *not* than the things they *are*, so these "About Me" sections are always a bit tough for me.

I'm a software developer, but my interests are pretty all over the place. Right now I am trying to become a better writer, but after I get comfortable with that I want to try out VR development and painting.

I appreciate a good drink (I am partial to tequila on the rocks and darker beers), but haven't ever really had the inclination to end a long day with a drink on my own. I like great food regardless of price. I value a genuine-feeling bar or restaurant where the staff seems to love the place, but I also like hitting a grocery store and eating fruits and nuts in a park for a meal. I like live music regardless of genre, because I think that it's more about the crowd and act being into it. I guess I have preferences, but I am open and flexible to seeing whether I enjoy new things more than I am tied to doing something I've done before.

I left my job to see the country and head west (slowly), and I wanted to meet the most cool people I could on my way there! My brother used to couch surf quite a bit, so I thought I would try it now that I have the opportunity.

I really can get interested in just about anything, and I love hearing about other people's jobs and hobbies. Passion for what you do is cool, even if it's not what pays the bills.

The last book that I really enjoyed was Man's Search For Meaning by Viktor Frankl, but I am trying to read cheerier stuff for a little while. Currently I am reading The Master and Margarita by Mikhail Bulgakov. The lighter books I've recommended recently are The Shining Girls by Lauren Beukes, Accidental Superpower by Peter Zeihan, and One Hundred Years of Solitude by Gabriel Garcia Marquez.

My music tastes are all over the board and I couldn't really boil them down, but out of more notable acts, I think I will always love Queen, The Decemberists, and Kanye (yes, yes I know).

My movie tastes are pretty pedestrian, but I love cinematography and visuals as a way to communicate feeling.

I tried to create a fitness device in college with a friend, and it failed but we managed to win some competitions and go to a conference for free because of it, which was really cool. There's a video of me on Youtube eating a very hot pepper and then trying to pitch the product, and it is pretty embarassing :D

I once didn't have a place to stay for my last night in Brugge, so I spent the night sleeping on a park bench and met a travelling magician from Switzerland.
