About Me

I'm 30. I'm a software developer from the UK. I'm currently backpacking round east Asia with my girlfriend after competing in the Mongol Rally back in September. We're both easy going and like to meet new people

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

We're looking to meet new people while exploring the far east.

Interests

I grew up around computers, so as well as working as a software developer, i also spend quite a lot of home time on the computer playing games. As well as my computer based hobbies, I play Airsoft (which is like paintball but with small plastic pellets instead of paint filled balls), I've done airsoft for the last 13 years.

I also like to scuba dive. I spent 3 of the last 5 years living in Bermuda, which has some of the best diving in the world. It has many coral reefs and a large amount of shipwrecks to dive. I used to dive with the local dive centre every sunday during the summer months.

Music, Movies, and Books

Musicwise, my tastes are pretty varied, although Pink Floyd are my favorite band. As well as that I like the offspring, Pearl Jam and CCR.
Bookswise, Tom Clancy. I don't usually agree with his politics, but he did write very enjoyable and readable books. As well as Tom Clancy, I also enjoy Bill Bryson and Dom Jolly's books.
Movies, My movie taste is quite varied. I enjoy cheesy 80/90s action movies (They're great fun). I also like thrillers (Ronin, Seven Days in May, Inside Man). On the lighter side of things, I love Mel Brooks films and The naked gun/airplane movies, not to mention the Marx Brothers. I also enjoy MST3K movies and Rifftrax.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I completed the Mongol Rally in 8 weeks. We drove 10,000 miles across europe, the middle east and Asia in a 1.2l Fiat Panda with no air conditioning. We started in London in July, then drove all the way across Europe, crossing Turkey (a week after the attempted coup), down through the caucuses and Iran, Up through the 'stans then across Russia, to finish up in Ulan Ude in september. We crossed seas, deserts, mountains, and everything else that the route could throw at us and still managed to make to the finish line.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm pretty good with computers and computer programming, so i can Help people out with that.
I have a reasonable knowledge of Science and History, but i'm always keen to learn more

What I Can Share with Hosts
