About Me

Hey everyone!

My name's Daniel, I also go by Dan. I finished college last year at the University of Oregon in the US. Currently I've just finished a year teaching English in Albi, France, which is about 60 kilometers from Toulouse. This summer I'm planning on traveling across Europe doing workaway, couchsurfing, blablacar, etc. I like workaway and traveling by car so I can meet people and really get a feel for a place instead of just visiting all the tourist hot-spots. I did a CELTA course (TEFL) in Barcelona last summer so I'm planning on continuing teaching abroad.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm Couchsurfing because I like meeting new people and traveling in alternative ways.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music : Singer/songwriters, acoustic, jazz, rock, classic rock, funk, rap, country, folk. I like a little bit of everything.

Movies: I haven't been watching too many movies lately, but I'm in to all different types of genres.

Books: Again all types of genres. Some favorites: Kite Runner, The Count of Monte Cristo, The Hobbit, the Kurt Wallander novels, A People's History of the United States.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I worked on a ranch that trained racing mules and I got to spend a lot of time riding and racing through the desert, often at night. with the coyotes howling and the stars out. It was quite an experience.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'd be more than happy to help with English if you are learning or interested in learning. I can also play guitar for you or discuss international politics if you're interested in that.

What I Can Share with Hosts

A sense of humor, a laid-back open-minded personality and a generous spirit.

Countries I’ve Visited

Canada, France, Germany, Spain, Switzerland

Countries I’ve Lived In

France, Spain, United States
