Overview
About Me
Even though I work in corporate America, I am naturally a free spirited and creative soul. I enjoy finding new ways to enjoy life and seeing our world from unique perspectives. I have lived in the western and southeastern US, and have traveled to Europe a few times, including living in Spain for a year. It's exciting to encounter new people with a whole different set of life experiences that energize that desire to learn and experience more.
I am fully vaccinated and boosted against COVID-19
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I originally joined Couchsurfing with the intent to more often be the surfer than the host, but it's been just the opposite, and I've had nothing but great experiences along the way. I enjoy travel and getting to know new people and cultures, and I enjoy hosting people with great stories to swap about our respective adventures. The Couchsurfing world fits my ideal for how I want to experience life. I am easy going and accustomed to no-frills travel. When I first set up this account I ended this section with "sleeping on a couch is an upgrade from a car," and while that is certainly true, over time I've learned that this community is a more focused on the human connection than just a place to crash for the night. I hope you share that vision as well.

Music, Movies, and Books
I'm an old soul when it comes to music. I'm terrible at "name that tune" with most songs that come on the radio. I enjoy sci-fi and fantasy best. Movies and books such as Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, and Star Wars series. I also enjoy biographies and memoirs of interesting people.
For classics, my favorite book is To Kill a Mockingbird.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I visited the Berlin Wall the year before it was torn down (1988). That was an amazing experience. The first night in Berlin we visited the wall from West Berlin. The area leading right up to it was just like a city park. Of course the wall itself was full of graffiti. The next day we took a bus ride through the wall to the East Berlin side prior to boarding a Soviet plane headed to Leningrad (now St. Petersburg, Russia). Going from one side of the wall to the other was surreal. I will never forget it. Like watching Wizard of Oz in reverse, going from color to black and white.
Teach, Learn, Share
I'm pretty good in the kitchen. I can help anyone learning Spanish. Otherwise I'm also good for random trivia.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Interesting stories (I'll try not to ramble), help in the kitchen and other areas of your home. I am very respectful, and have had experience hosting.
