About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Live life and travel the world, meet cool people along the way

ABOUT ME

My name is Dan and I have a thirst to travel. I love meeting people from all over and sharing perspectives, and I have found that people really aren't that different (did you know that people in Turkey love shows like South Park and How I Met Your Mother just as much as we do in the U.S.??) My job on Marthas Vineyard gives me the opportunity to do that, we have people from the world over that come out there to work.

PHILOSOPHY

"Life is a book and those who don't travel read only one page" -Augustine of Hippo

"Not all those who wander are lost" -J.R.R. Tolkien

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Not too much yet, my friends Morgan and Sam are getting me into it though!

Interests

Love the outdoors, biking, hiking, beaches. Enjoy traveling during the winter, working a ton in the summer (to fund the winter travels) Have been on 2 backpacking trips through Europe and I am about to visit California for the first time. Basically I go by the motto 'variety is the spice of life'

Music, Movies, and Books

Books - Stephen King, Cormac McCarthy, Dan Brown, Hunter Thompson, Tolkien, Steinbeck
Music - Anything pleasing to the ears! Classic hip hop, classic rock, reggae, ska, alternative rock...my tastes change often, always looking for good stuff
Movies - No country for old men, requiem for a dream, anything Tarantino

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Hmmmm..the valley through the city of Luxembourg was extremely cool, spending Halloween 2012 going out all night with people from the hostel in Vienna was one of my most fun nights out, and experiencing New Orleans for the first time are a few I can think of right now. Oh yeah, and beer at the Hofbrauhaus in Munich (So damned good!!)

Countries I’ve Visited

Austria, Belgium, Bolivia, Canada, Costa Rica, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Ireland, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Peru, Portugal, Spain, United Kingdom
