ABOUT ME

Hello there, I'm a 21 year old former student about to start a cycling trip half way across the world! Hoping to make use of a few couches along the way, and open mine up when I get back to Scotland and move to Edinburgh again. I'm pretty bad at planning, so hopefully it all goes well!

PHILOSOPHY

It'll all work out in the end. No matter how lonely you are, or how uncomfortable you feel, one day you'll be back at home with loved ones all safe and sound.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

By staying with people in exciting cities so I can get a proper view of the place, which is something I don't think people get without hanging out with locals. Then when my trip is over I can't wait to show people what Scotland has to offer.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

So far Couchsurfing has turned out to be one of the coolest things to enter my life. My first night in Germany, all my luggage lost, someone is able to take me in and look after me for 3 days until I get it back. Shows there are truly amazing people in the world.

Perhaps my favourite thing to do is write and play music, as well as listen to it. I've been in a few bands in my time, mostly playing the bass guitar. I love nothing more than playing gigs. Apart from that, my bikes take up a lot of my time. Mountain biking, road cycling and touring. Hoping to get into track cycling once the velodrome in Glasgow opens up! Travelling and the outdoors is another thing I adore. I didn't get to see much of the world when I was young, so making up for it now! Really looking forward to meeting lots of new people.

Movies: I like pretty much anything as long as it's quality. Favourites include The Thing, Memento, Commando, Goodfellas, Apocalypse Now, Drive, Inglorious Basterds.

Music: Mostly atmospheric rock with some other stuff mixed in, namely Cult of Luna, Isis, The Ocean, Knut, These Arms are Snakes, Amon Tobin, Mars Volta, Mogwai, Neurosis

Books: I mostly read non-fiction science/sociology/psychology based stuff, but recently have been reading Game or Thrones. It's really good!

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

Perhaps the most exciting or surprising thing I've ever done was my holiday to the Netherlands. I had a bit of money in my bank, a week off work and nothing to do. Booked a flight and had to leave my house within the hour! Got there at 10pm with no where to stay!
