Chi sono

Hi! こんにちは! 你好! Hola! Здравствуйте! Olá! Xin chào! สวัสดีค่ะ! नमस्ते! Bonjour! Hallå!
My name is Dahye Choi with a nickname Dana. I made my English name (Dana) because it is difficult for most people to pronounce the Korean names.
I'm an authentic Korean to the bone who lived in New Zealand for about 6 years until my first year of University in Architecture. Still, I lack English skills so I am studying to be better.
I practiced becoming an actress for two years when I was 23. I'm not doing it now but I haven't given up yet and still have a lot of interest in acting. First of all, there are so many things that I want to do so I'm experiencing what I want to do first.
I have a tendency to do everything I want to do in my life. For example, recently I've bleached my hair by myself for the first time! I never ever thought of doing that before.
I enjoy these disruptive changes also I get more interest in doing things what people don't want to try or changes and things that you have to take a risk. And I love the joy and enjoy the excitement as much as I can when I do that. I am always trying to build my own style.
I'm trying not to look at the world with a prejudiced eye. After my first backpacking trip in 2016, I realized that I was a frog in a well so I'm traveling to see a bigger world, meet people and learn from it. Of course, I love traveling so much that I'm wondering how to travel a little more differently than others and in a more fun way.

also, I strongly believe that everything happens for reason :-)

Perché sono iscritto su Couchsurfing

The real reason is that I always have a low budget, so the Couchsurfing is an ideal idea for me.
Actually, I can spend some money and have my own room for a little cheap price but after living with people in the U.S. this time, I realized how precious and valuable this relationship is.
What are the chances that we can meet? This is amazing!
I was afraid of using Couchsurfing but now I'm going to travel around the country via couch surfing!
my style of travel is to live like a local, get along with them and blend into the space that I'm in.
I'd like to stay in the quiet city for a month then watch residents with regards to how they live, what they eat, and visit the tasty local restaurants rather than sightseeing.
I don't care if I sleep on the sofa or on the floor! Please let me in!

Interessi

I studied for just 1 year in an Architecture major in New Zealand. Also, I studied art such as painting, photography, and design through high school for 3 years and I was really into them. I like everything that is related to art.

Musica, film e libri

Movies_ I love movies!!
Marvel Hero movies and Disney movies are awesome! I always find time for watching these movies. How can they convey different type of messages in an animation so well? The media is really amazing. I like Indi-movies the most if I had to choose my favorite among them. (Indi-movie means a low-budget movie made by an unknown group of actors and directors, but it's as good as a major movie on theater) I try not to miss those movies. I usually choose movies under my favorite actor or actor who is good at acting. These days, I watch a lot of romance type of movies or movies that stimulate my emotions. I also watch many dramas.
The most memorable movies are 'My soulmate', 'Pride and Prejudice' and 'Julie & Julia'

Music _ I like jazz music from New Orleans. Just started to know them. If you know good jazz music, please recommend them to me. On my bucket list, I have a goal to become a Jazz singer. I have a lot of interest in African- American soul jazz. I am not picky when it comes to genre. I listen to dance music when I exercise, when I am sad or stressed I listen to Acoustic music or Indie music. When I am tired of dance music, I listen to rock music. I have interest in playing the piano, so I sometimes listen to classical piano music. Usually, I only know about Korean music and the music on U.S. Billboard chart, but I want to know good artists who are hiding in Europe.
Please recommend some European songs or singers! I think sharing music is great, too.

Books_ I'm making a habit of reading books! I have not read many English books, but I have been reading Korean books steadily. What remains in my memory is that I read 'Pride and Prejudice' five times continuously because I did not know why the title of the book is Pride and Prejudice when I was young. I could understand Jane Austen's thoughts and the meaning only after reading it 5 times. She is my favorite writer. I'm into the poem right now. They are super hard to understand but it is amazing. Any recommendation for an English book is welcome!
Sharing music, movies and books can tell the person's feelings and emotions, so it's a good way to get close to each other even if you don't know much about the other person.

Una cosa incredibile che ho fatto

2018 Hiking Pacific Crest Trail
Without any knowledge of hiking, first time in America and hiking as a day hiker for once a year, that's me :-). It's the first time I've picked and searched for everything myself from one to ten.
For now, I am walking on the Pacific Crest Trail, which takes 6 months starting from April 26th 2018. You hike from the Mexican Border to the Canadian Border through Western California (California, Oregon and Washington). Five to six months across America. I started doing something crazy without worrying about what other people said. Now PCT is a great experience and teacher to me. I was thinking of quitting after I hiked 900 miles, however, I'm hiking on this trail, looking for ways to make me 'HAPPY'. I meet so many people and experience so many different types of love. I admire the people who simply help me because I'm hiking PCT and learn from people who give away their precious food to others without hesitation.
PCT is a beautiful, unspeakable trail with nature, people, love and countless episodes.
If you like hiking, please give it a go.

SHARE_ My opinion regarding sharing is that we can share anything if our interests are similar such as the process of meeting someone for the first time and introducing myself to another person. You can feel their life just by talking to each other.
Isn't every act that we do to and with each other sharing...?

Want to learn_ One day, I want to become a singer who plays the piano or guitar by herself. It would be an honor to meet an artist! I want to learn musical instruments. I am not sure how good I am, but I really want to sing. If I have a good voice, let's make a song together!

I want to learn a language!
Even though I can speak some English, I realized that I was not good enough to make a deep conversation when I meet people. My goal is to have a deeper dialogue in English with people.
I'm learning Spanish. It would be great to meet someone who speaks Spanish well!

In my life, I like to meet many people to share and learn about life.
Here's why I like traveling and try to have a deep relationship with people.
No matter how small the talk we make.
It's always interesting to talk about each other's lives and thoughts.
It's like watching a little movie.

Cosa posso offrire ai padroni di casa

I am a very active person. I can do various activities together.
Also of course, I can share all of my stories up till now and share some travel tips based on the places I have visited. If it seems appropriate, I can also provide some physically and emotionally help. For example, if you need someone to talk to when you eat dinner or need painting somewhere but you don’t want to do it yourself, or you have enough ingredients but are too lazy to cook, or need to do housework, and or are really depressed and need someone completely unrelated to the story etc. etc.

If by any chance you are also aiming to become an actor, I can help you!
I practiced in Korea to become one myself so it will be fun!

This should be obvious but most importantly,
If there is anything regarding Korea you need help with, I can actively share and help.
If you are planning on living in Korea, I can also teach you Korean. If you want to eat Korean food but don’t have any restaurant nearby, give me your ingredients and your kitchen. I can make you Korean food 3 meals a day for a week becoming your chef for 1 week.
I don’t want to brag but I can say that the food I make is quite delicious. And don’t worry, I can fit it into your taste.
