About Me
Things I value: talking about emotions, life-long (un)learning, social justice and systems change, mindfulness, playfulness.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
This fall, I put all my things in storage and left my home in Toronto, Canada, to travel for a year, or more. I'm transitioning out of a decade spent leading a national charity in the field of food security, and am looking to travel within Canada, Europe, and internationally, with a focus on gaining experience in farming and living in rural, intentional, and buddhist communities.
I'm joining couchsurfing now to help make my travel affordable and meet great people along the way. I plan to return to Toronto to study my second year in Gestalt Psychotherapy in 2019, and look forward to hosting when I'm settled back at home.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I went sea-kayaking with my family on Canada's west coast for a month. I was ten years old, and I spent the whole time counting down the days until we returned to civilization and my computer :)
Teach, Learn, Share
I'm a student of meditation, western psychotherapy and buddhist psychology, and I have a special interest (and personal experience) in body-based ways of working with stress and trauma, including somatic meditations, reiki, and a number of other modalities. I'm happy to share about these topics if others are interested, and they also inform my real interest in making genuine connections with and learning from fellow couchsurfers and hosts.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I'd be happy to make a meal or few, or help out with projects around the house while I'm there. If you've ever wanted to learn more about grant writing, institutional procurement, food security, or anything else I've learned while working in the nonprofit sector, I'd be happy to share. Or, if you're interested in energy work, I could offer a short reiki session or talk about it-- I'm a scientific-focused skeptic who's been hooked by personal experience.
