About Me

Hi Fellow Travelers, I'm an adventurous spirit with an open heart. I've got a passion for the arts, music, vegetarian cuisine and anything that makes me laugh! I enjoy company that comes with good conversation and positive vibes. I'm a dog lover through and through and a city gal who can also appreciate the quieter side of natures wide open spaces. I aim to please, live to learn and am working to gracefully accept any challenges that life throws my way. I'm pretty easy going and dismiss drama as I don't find it to be suiting to a spiritual way of being. I'm a giver more than I am a taker and an enthusiast of anything creatively driven and pursued by the heart.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm new to Couchsurfing but eager to get involved. I'd love to host some fellow travelers and give back to the CS community while I'm in a position to do so. Shortly after the new year (2016) I will be embarking on a cross country journey with my dog Griz, from Michigan to California where I will be planting myself for an undetermined period of time. I plan on taking a couple weeks to complete the ride and am interested in meeting and surfing with other dog-friendly CSers along the way. I've been told I'm a great guest and really try to give back to my hosts in any way I can. I'm looking to broaden my horizons and connect with both like minds and intellectually attractive opposites. In a phase in life where meaningful moments and positive experiences are more important than the sum of my bank account. Hope we can share in quality time, giving, learning and progressing together because the open road can sometimes be lonely and I'd love some fresh (human) company along the way!

Interests

My eyes are always open and it seems that every day I'm surprised with a new fascination, interest or hobby. Some of my favorite ways to spend personal time include:
my dog Griz
photography
soccer
traveling
hiking
biking
cooking (and eating too!) vegetarian foods
a night in with a good book or movie
spending quality time with my family
going to a concert, art opening, play or performance
swimming
dancing

Music, Movies, and Books

Romantic Comedies and Dramas are my favorite types of movies.

Black Keys, T.I., RL Burnside, GirlTalk are some of my most recent artists on my playlist.

When it comes to books I must admit I'm a sucker for trashy, vampire novels (pun intended).

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

This year alone (2015) I've had the profound pleasure of visiting some amazing places throughout the US. Each place has a story and each city has opened my mind as well as my heart. The list includes New Orleans, Washington DC, Arkansas, Tennessee and Napa, California.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm more than happy to share some of my art along the way! If you're willing to host me I'd love to offer some photography prints or perhaps do some custom shooting for you during my stay! I can help in the kitchen or clean up your space. I'm also a great listener and am no stranger to lending an ear which I find to be often as important as giving something materialistic.

What I Can Share with Hosts

If you're interested in photography or mixed media art I am more than happy to help share my knowledge on the subjects. I'm making this trek with my dog Griz by my side so I can also offer lots of love and cuddles from him ; ) He's very people friendly and tends to bring out the best in those he meets.
