About Me
Hello everybody,
I'm Dan, I'm 27, from Wales. Moved to London in September 2015 after 4 years living abroad. Currently studying a masters degree in Publishing.
I cringe like crazy writing these sorts of things, best you just read the list below or visit my blog at https://danbrixey.wordpress.com for some detail.
Here's a rough list of stuff I'm into:
Music.
Travel.
Learning interesting but ultimately useless bits of info.
Creativity.
Coffee.
Tea.
People watching.
Books.
Writing.
Open-mic nights.
Photography.
Chocolate.
Keeping fit - depending on level of Chocolate intake.
Comedy.
Adventure.
I like to listen to people, work out what makes them tick, have fun, improve, have a giggle, chatter over a drink, make deep or pointless conversation, all that jazz. If you're loud and boisterous, we'll do fine, if you're shy and quiet, that's all good too. I like to think people can always feel relaxed in my company.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Meet-ups, some hosting, hanging out, meeting lovely travelling types!
Music, Movies, and Books
These three things are a huge part of my life - so I wont go into this on here. I like all sorts and always want to find out more.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Lived in Australia and New Zealand for four years. Since moving back to the UK I have no idea why I left.
Going swimming in Cape Cod, Massachusetts at 5am with a group of fantastic people in warm water as the sun came up, everything became illuminated with colour and warmth.
My first hitch-hiking experience. The 300 miles from Arcata, CA to Eugene, OR. It put me completely out of my comfort zone and I had to rely on pure chance and luck, with little in my control. It felt so liberating and it was such a beautiful part of the world to hitch!
Skydiving over Taupo, New Zealand on my 25th Birthday.
Teach, Learn, Share
Teach:
I can show you how to look like you're better at guitar than you actually are by sticking an acoustic into an open-tuning and then hitting it now and again between chords. I can give a few singing tips (I learnt the speech-level singing technique whilst I was living in Melbourne).I can do a one handed roll on a snare drum. I'll show you a few beats on the kit too.I can also teach you how to say at least three or four words of Welsh, If I remember them.
Learn
I want to learn how to surf.I want to learn Music Theory. I want to learn how to cook.If anyone can help me here, I'd be very much obliged!
What I Can Share with Hosts
My couch, company, the company of my flat-mates (they'll be hosting you just as much as myself)
