Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

It would be cool to meet people who really live in the places that we will be visiting to get a good perspective of what it's really like and to learn about all the real places to go (not just the touristy ones). And we would like to be able to do the same for others coming to visit this area.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

on some occasions, I would count some of the bed & breakfasts that I've stayed at to be couch surfing since the hosts were so friendly.

Interests

Interests are anything outside! Mountain biking, canoeing, whitewater kayaking, trail running, rafting, hiking, backpacking, rock climbing, road biking. In the past few years I have really gotten into adventure racing since it combines so many of the things that I love to do! I am also into good wine and beer, concerts, and good food!

Music, Movies, and Books

I listen to all kinds of music – rock, alternative, indie, bluegrass, etc. Favorite bands include Bright Eyes, New Pornographers, Iron & Wine, Citizen Cope, Old Crow Medicine Show, Decemberists, Band of Horses, Josh Ritter, Hackensaw Boys….
I love to read, some of my favorite authors are Mike Carey, Warren Ellis, Garth Ennis, Neil Gaiman….
For movies I prefer comedies or dark comedies, sci-fi, and suspense. Favorites are Weatherman, Taken, Hellboy, Sin City, Pulp Fiction, Reservoir Dogs, Superbad…

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Backpacked in the Grand Tetons and Yellowstone for 2 weeks, saw some amazing things.

Teach, Learn, Share

Thanks to lot of home remodeling projects, I can now fix just about anything around the house - plumbing, electrical, drywall, tile, you name it.

I am also pretty good at fixing/tuning bicycles, and can take fix the regular stuff in cars - oil, headlights, brakes, battery, etc...

I just started trying to learn Spanish, it's going OK.
