ABOUT ME

I have lived in the Washington, DC, area since 1989. I don't smoke or do drugs, but I do like a nice glass of red with dinner. Or maybe a whole bottle if it's accompanied by good food and conversation.

I'm up on world/current events to a point, but sometimes I just wanna crawl in bed, get under the covers, and hide when I see/hear/read how much crap is going on simultaneously in the world. I'm a firm believer that, eventually, we can all get along. My goal is to help that process along one CouchSurfer at a time. Or two if that's the way they roll.

Speaking of rolls, I bake. A lot. Sometimes to my detriment. Usually something sweet and yummy. My friends are getting fatter. It's all part of my Master Plan.

I'm also quite into music. I play a little piano, and there's a digital keyboard (88 keys!) in the living room if you like to play. My musical tastes range from Celtic and American folk to a whole lotta modern country to pop to just about anything else. I don't go to nearly enough concerts. I'm learning to play the bodhran currently.

I likes me some intelligent sense of humor/humour, and will gladly banter with the best of 'em. I'm a Gemini, and I almost always see both sides of a situation or argument. I tend to be an integrator and bringer together-er of people.

I'm sure there's more. There's always more. But that'll do for now.

I started (and ended a year later) a small baking company in Washington, DC. I'm glad I did it, and I'm glad I'm not doing it any longer. Learned a lot, including it's really hard to run a food business by yourself!
