ABOUT ME

I like to consider myself as an individual who is open to nearly any and every experience. I see every experience as a new opportunity to grow, to learn, and to progress. Traveling has become a passion of mine. Once I got a taste of the thrill of seeing new places, being in foreign lands of different languages, odd food, and new ideals, I never see myself ceasing to travel. I thoroughly enjoy constantly trying to learn more and more about the world, be it by textbook, novel, movie, personal experience, etc.

PHILOSOPHY

My life consists of constant growth towards a seemingly unreachable wisdom, but a wisdom that (I believe) needs to be reached in order further myself, to strengthen others, and to help progress society. In more detail, I quite enjoy the philosophy of Nietzche, Feuerbach, Hegel and Santyana...

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am unsure of what this question is asking...but generally I like to lead groups, though I am not a conventional leader. I am also very able to be a follower, so I believe this makes a dynamic team member

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have couchsurfed numerous times and have come to deeply enjoy and respect it! It is easily the best to "see" an area: meeting locals, getting local input and advice and garnishing new relationships is always exciting! I have surfed all over the world and plan to continue to do so. There is no better way to engage in an area and to meet new people.

兴趣

My list of interest can be a difficult thing to produce. As I have stated, I actively enjoy learning about new and exciting things. And by new, I mean new to me. So in this way I yearn to understand the past, live wisely in the present, and to prepare for the future. On a lighter note, I deeply enjoy all kinds of music (no matter the language) and movies. Along with movies, I thoroughly enjoy cinematography, photography, and the film industry. Photography has become a major passion of mine and I always enjoy discussing such things

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

Attended the Sochi Winter Olympics 2014, volunteered in Serbia as part of the refugee crisis, thoroughly seen Eastern Europe, dirt-biked the backcountry of Tanzania, climbed Mt. Kilimanjaro, tried Tanzanian bananan beer in the middle of a forest, seen Pope Francis, lived in Italy, attended the Ivrea-Italy Orange Festival, attended the Venice Festivale, rented a car (a standard, of which I have never driven before) a travled around Romania, traveled throughout Crimea when it was still Ukraine and within a month before it became Russia, met Hugh Jackman, did a mission trip at Panama City Florida, went skydiving in Arkansas, got to attend a gastronomy school in Italy for a day and ate/learned about chocolate, lived in Germany and studied there for a Masters program.

At this moment it is difficult to put any kind of lesson into words. First and foremost, travel (internationally or across the street) to see and experience new things. Don't be content with where you are and what you do until you know the other side of the situation. Also, always make the assumption that plans will either succeed OR fail and either way it will be okay. Some of the best experiences I have ever had are due to simple plans not coming together as planned and then needing to improvise. You learn alot about yourself, others, and about patience and understanding.
