I'm a 24-year-old currently living in New Jersey and making my way over to Colorado for graduate school. My boyfriend Tim and I are driving there so we are hoping to explore a few cities along the way :)

PHILOSOPHY
Not sure yet. Definitely something about being open-minded, yet recognizing the creativity that emerges from boundaries. Being open-minded towards the closed boundaries... Etc.

I grew up in a suburb in New Jersey. I have always wanted to explore different values than some of the ones I see around me as I've grown up, I've done things with my family like spending tons of money on fancy hotels in safeguarded resorts, but in my head reality is much much different than that. I am so excited to soon live in a city where I can bike where I need to go, take busses, and live a simple life that's consciously cultivated, by morality, by my own sensibilities (what could be better than fresh air and the mountains constantly hugging you?) and by a sense of freedom and groundedness.

Por qué estoy en Couchsurfing

I have never yet Couchsurfed, but after exploring the concept I am starting to understand it, it's all about authenticity and realness, the point isn't the money (altho you are doing someone a solid by saving them $$) but it is the idea that you can travel differently, that traveling is a right of everyone and a beautiful thing, that friendships can happen easily, etc. I would really love to try it, and I feel this first road trip is a really good opportunity to!

Once we are in Boulder we are going to try hosting and getting more involved with the Couchsurfing community :)

Intereses

Books, poetry, music, being outside. I like hanging out, making food, talking about concepts and life and things that make you feel fascinated, I like listening to people tell me things, attempting to think in other languages, nurturing friendships. I've been slowly getting more and more interested in minimalism and acting on that, and learning things through it. I'm also interested in physical and mental health, doing active things in the sun and eating well. Pues, I also like straight chillin'.

Music // I love music! Play me anything and I will probably enjoy it. I love indie bands, classic rock, jazz, swing, blues, I have a lot of specific favorite bands and soul singers and stuff and I am always open to going to see shows or get a drink while a saxophone plays in the dark or whatever lovely thing.

Books // I am headed to Boulder to get an MFA in Creative Writing and I am so in love with reading... dylan thomas, lautreamont, alfred jarry, guy de maupassant, rabelais, other stuff :-)
