Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

We have surfed in Sweden, Denmark, Italy, Austria, France, Switzerland, Spain, and Belgium. In the states, we have surfed in Seattle, Boulder, Madison, Cleveland, and Houston. Our home is open to travelers as well!

Couchsurfing has allowed us to meet incredible people and have more of an insider view into the places we've visited. My favorite memories are definitely the quality conversations we've had with our hosts and our guests where we've really connected on the level of humanity. Each host/guest has taught us something different.

Interests

Braxton is the cook, music maker, and board game aficionado, while Dani is the trip planner, mixologist, and plant mama. Braxton is a software engineer and Dani works in a neurobiology research lab. We love being outside: climbing, skiing, biking, and kayaking make us the happiest!

Braxton: I have most recently developed a liking for Wes Anderson films. Any movie starring the Muppets is A-ok as well. Other than that, Into the Wild is one of my favorites.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Dani: Last winter I cross-country skiied to a meadow, set up a tarp and sleeping bag on the snow-covered ground, and watched a meteor shower. It was the perfect sequence of events.

Braxton: In college I opened a stand at the local farmer's market and sold fresh guacamole and salsa for a summer. It was a simple experience, but resulted in a serious dream to one day open the doors to my very own cafe.

Teach, Learn, Share

Dani: I would really love to learn to sail proficiently. My current dream is to be a crew member on a tall ship. I'm also working my way through my book of 1000 classic cocktails, happy to teach/learn/share anything in the realm of mixing!

Braxton: A few years ago I started on a lifelong journey to learn how to cook everything. I love collecting recipes, so if you come stay with us please bring a favorite recipe to add to the collection!

What I Can Share with Hosts

We make a mean fruit crumble that can be prepared in any oven anywhere.
