Hi, my name is Daniela. I love to travel and explore. Some of my favourite things to do whilst travelling are searching for hidden cafes and bookstores, going on a hikes, enjoying good coffee/food as well as taking in the sights. I enjoy learning about the history and culture of the places I visit - this is one of the reasons I always try and join a walking tour.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I think couchsurfing is the perfect place to meet locals and see their home city/town/village from their perspective. It also takes you to places hostels and such don't.

Music, Movies, and Books

I listen to a lot of music. From Stevie Wonder, Nina Simone, Jarabe de Palo to FAVE, Celia Cruz and Pedro Mizutani. A bit of everything really, it just depends on my mood. Afrobeats and Latin are definitely favourites.
Movies also vary, but comfort movies such as childhood favourites (Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings) and feel good movies (Little Miss Sunshine) are stand outs.
My favourite book is probably Journey to the River Sea by Eva Ibbotson for sentimental reasons. I also loved Americanah by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

A lot of moments from my time backpacking through Andalucía, Spain stand out. One thing I'll never forget is the people I met in Granada who lived in the old mining caves. I stumbled across them as I was trying to find my way to a mirador.
