About Me

CURRENT MISSION

starting an internship in London in a few weeks, though I don't have a home yet. Does that sound crazy to you? Yes, to me too.

ABOUT ME

I guess my friends would say about me that I am a very nice person, honest, open-minded and generally a good listener. I always make an effort. If I have the time, I will bake a cake (or make chocolates, preferably with alcohol in it ;) ).

PHILOSOPHY

"A person who never made a mistake never tried anything new." - Albert Einstein

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I had my first couchsurfing experience in London and it couldn't have been nicer! I was very impressed to experience how generous some people can be!

Interests

I am always up for watching films and tv-shows, listening to music and reading books. At the moment, I am really into linguistics books that explore the history of the English language and the changes it went through over time. I think it is really fascinating. I recently decided that I want to learn Welsh. It looks difficult and I bet it is!
Update:
Sadly, my diploma thesis and final exams at uni robbed me of my time and drained me of any creative cell I almost certainly had about a million lifetimes ago. Brainfog has occupied the space behind my eyes.
Since uni is over now, I hope to go travelling again and seeing new places, meeting new people, living outside of Germany again! I need to fill my head with new experiences and information ;)

Music, Movies, and Books

I am seriously in love with this song and could hear it all the time: Dire Straits - Sultans of Swing ;) (Update: I still am!)
My favourite movies are High Fidelity, Fight Club, Being John Malkovich, American Psycho
I got kinda addicted to the old Jamie Oliver shows, as well as Jimmy's Food Factory and other shows about food manufacturing etc.
My all time favourite (US-) TV-shows are The Big Bang Theory and Friends (where I know a lot of the lines by heart...which may sound pathetic :S)
My favourite UK-Show is, of course, Peep Show...but I'd recommend to visit the loo before watching, otherwise you might pee your pants...

I loved the Harry Potter books! The films are mostly shit though.
For the last few months I have been reading lots of books about English linguistics, especially about the history of language and language change. It's so fascinating! Though I might sound like a nerd now, lol.

Update: I recently switched from linguistics books to books about supermarket food culture and how evil these corporations are, e.g. "Not on the label" by F. Lawrence. Super interesting! Makes you appreciate Farmer's markets more!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

When I went to Isle of Skye, Scotland. Even though I went there in the shittiest weather one can imagine, as soon as the sky cleared up the view of the sea, the mountains and green fields, and the bright blue sky were breathtaking!
When I lived and studied in Scotland, I loved to spend time on campus because of the beautiful landscape - a huge lake surrounded my trees and footwalks, swans and ducks, squirrels and rabbits everywhere! I loved it!
