I live in San Francisco and work in software. I've spent many months abroad, mostly in Asia and South America. Current language I'm pursuing is Chinese. Always looking to meet new people while traveling.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

While abroad, I want to travel to different parts of Asia and meet fascinating people. People I meet through couchsurfing have interesting lives and personalities.

I also like couchsurfing for the stories: hearing stories from other CSers and then making news stories together.

Interests

I spent much of college salsa dancing and those days dance occasionally.

I enjoy hiking more and more but I'm always the slowest in the group.

I enjoy powerlifting and will talk about working out and nutrition a lot.

I try to scuba dive a couple times a year and am pretty much always down for things involving the ocean or the beach(although I haven't been surfing yet).

While traveling, I think some of my favorite activities are visiting temples, trying local fruits, people watching, water activities, and joining locals in dancing.

Others include: singing, vegetarian cooking, learning languages, sightseeing, traveling, walking in parks, cocktails, peacocks, Muay Thai, almond milk cappuccinos.

Music, Movies, and Books

I listen to lots of types of music including classic rock, K-pop, reggaeton, Bossa nova, pop, dubstep, Japanese rock... Kinda all over the place here.

I like to read non-fiction. Recently I've enjoyed Lean In by Sheryl Sandberg and Tipping Point and David and Goliath by Malcolm Gladwell.
I'm currently reading a biography of Ghandi.

I enjoy adventure, fantasy, action, and comedies. Favorites franchises include Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, Miyazaki movies and Marvel movies. I am also well educated on most Disney movies and trivia, and like Rick and Morty a lot.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

In Hong Kong, we went camping on the beach on a very dark night, no moon. We soon saw that the waves were glowing in the dark-- There were glowing plankton in the water! Running through the wet sand, our foot prints lit up and walking through the water made our legs glow. It was very magical.

I love language as I mentioned and would love to learn more about other languages and share what I know about the languages I've studied.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I haven't cooked in a while, but I could definitely prepare ingredients for cooking and clean! Also, as a computer scientist, I could try to help with any computer problems (but no guarantees!)
