About Me

I'd like to describe my self as an extroverted but easygoing and laid-back person! One of the things that fulfills me most in life is to make new connections and spend quality time with friends and family. I'm always open for a conversation, a laugh or a new adventure. I really love to get deep with people and talk about meaningful and interesting topics but I also really like to get a bit silly and joke around (Life's too short to be serious all the time!). I have been working as a Doctor in South Africa for the last 3 years, burning my self out really- so I'm traveling because I've decided to take a break to enjoy my life for a bit, meet new people and to reassess where I want to go in my career.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm searching for a way to travel the world and meet people in a more authentic manner than staying in hostels. I believe staying with local people in their homes is the best way to learn the language and experience the culture. Conversely, I love to share my beautiful country with others - which I am deeply passionate about. South Africa has so much beauty in its nature, people and many different cultures and I want to give people the best possible opportunity to experience it.

Interests

I am a very dynamic and versatile person with many different interests. I have a deep drive to learn more about the world, new skills and ways of improving one's self to realize their full potential. I believe living an active, healthy and holistic lifestyle - focusing on exercise, diet, spiritual and emotional well-being. These are the keys to a long and fulfilling life. I am almost always outside and in nature. The two natural elements I feel most drawn to are the ocean and the mountains, which is why two of my main interests are surfing and hiking.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The coolest thing I've seen on my travels so far have definitely been the Amazon rain forest. It completely blew my mind on so many levels! The coolest thing I have done is to travel through central and South America and surf some of the best waves of my life.
