Hello, my name is Daniel Castro!

I'm currently living in the United States but I moved here from Mexico. I was born in Mexico but I came to the United States when I was one year old. I currently study foreign languages at COCC (Central Oregon Community College) but I plan to go to the University of Oregon to get my bachelors in linguistics! I've currently studied over one year of Chinese (中文) so I can speak a little bit of Chinese, but not too well, haha. I have also studied a little bit of Japanese (日本語), I'm not able to speak very well but I have studied both and would really enjoy an opportunity to practice!

También puedo hablar un poco de Español como mi mama y papa son de México! Me gusta interactuar con gente de otras culturas porque siento que siempre hay algo para aprender. E estudiado Chino y Japones porque se me ase interesante la cultura, también un día me pienso ir allá para enseñar inglés. Por ahorita solo son planes mios, jaja pero bueno, posiblemente un día si lo lograre!

我为什么加入 Couchsurfing

Part of the reason I am on couch surfing is because I personally really enjoy learning languages and learning about various world culture; I feel as though it helps me to understand the world a little bit better. I also want to help people experience American culture and the many diverse subcultures that it has to offer.

I normally listen to all kinds of music, but I really enjoy listening to Jazz, HipHop, and R&B. I also make a lot of my own music, part of the reason for this is because most of my family members play an instrument and so I've learned from them!
